Time, (a social construct if you will) seems like one of the most honoured and treasured things in life today. This seems to be especially evident in an long distance relationship, where it becomes a precious commodity. And yet finding a time the couple is able to share is crucial for the relationship to continue to exist. These reflections based on my own experience led me to design a pair of objects with serve as alarm clock on with both sides can set up their availability for their partner. The synchronised devices will not only serve the “practical” purpose of finding a good time to talk. The ritual of setting a time and communicating it adds another layer of connection. By personalising the objects they also became a manifestation and charm of the loved one.
